We view technology as a real opportunity to extend the capabilities of physicians and other healthcare providers. Pain care physicians spend a great deal of time educating patients about the differences between chronic pain and acute pain and also how biological, social, and behavioral factors can influence pain. Being able to use technology to deliver this education saves time for pain care physicians, while also improving access to care for patients who can’t see a pain care physician in-person.
